A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo (1981) with a specialization in mural painting, El Fayoumi pursued advanced studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in 1986, graduating in 1991.

عمر الفيومي، وُلد في الجيزة، مصر، عام 1957، هو رسام جداريات مشهور تتميز أعماله بضربات فرشاة جريئة، وألوان زاهية، وتفاصيل معقدة. تخرج من كلية الفنون الجميلة بالقاهرة (1981) بتخصص في رسم الجداريات، وواصل دراسته المتقدمة في أكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في لينينغراد (الآن سانت بطرسبرغ) في عام 1986، وتخرج منها في 1991.
